Getting to Karamea

Road

Karamea is 100 km, or one and a half hours drive north of Westport. Karamea Express (Tel: 03 7826 757) offers a daily (except Sunday) bus service between Westport and Karamea.

Air

Karamea has a sealed runway aerodrome capable of handling up to a Cessna Caravan sized aircraft.
Golden Bay Air regularly fly into Karamea and Helicopter Charters Karamea operates three helicopters from the airport while Air Charter Karamea also operates a fixed wing aircraft from the airport. Karamea Express offer a pickup and drop off service to the aerodrome.
