Entry Info

The Karamea Events Trustees have made the decision to cancel the Pulse Energy Oparara Wilderness Trail Run for this year. We feel that it would be irresponsible of us to go ahead with the event when the Covid 19 crisis seems to be gaining momentum within New Zealand and with the likelihood that the government may further reduce the threshold of numbers attending group gatherings. We are also conscious of the fact that our competitors will be transported in buses to the start lines and that this will place them in close proximity to strangers and that this may pose a health risk to them.

We would like to advise all our competitors that their entry fees will be refunded in full to their credit card accounts over the next couple of weeks.

Regular $125.00 – until midnight Friday 3 April 2020.
Entries received after midnight Friday 3 April 2020 will incur a $25.00 late entry fee.

No entries will be accepted after 7am Wednesday 15 April 2020.
No entries on the day will be accepted.

Please note that due to our supplier not being able to fill our order, we are unable to offer merchandise for the 2020 event. If you have already ordered merchandise, you will receive a refund.

Entries are strictly limited, with a cap of 150 runners for the 20 km run, and 50 walkers for the 20 km walk. WE RECOMMEND EARLY ENTRY!

New for 2020: Walkers

We welcome walkers to the 20 km event in 2020. There are no age categories for the 20 km walkers; 1st, 2nd & 3rd placed male or female only will receive prizes. All competitors will receive a finishers medal and will be able to download their certificate once the results have been loaded. We rely on the integrity of entrants that they WALK the complete event. Please participate in the spirit of the event and abide by the walking criteria. Any walking competitor seen running will automatically be classified in the running results. No correspondence will be entered into.
If you think you could break into a jog or run please enter yourself as a runner.


Withdrawals and Refunds

Entrants who withdraw before Friday 3 April 2020 will receive a 50% refund.  No refunds will be made after 3 April 2020. 

Withdrawals must be in writing and emailed to karameaevents@gmail.com



Transferring Entries To the Following Year

Entries can not be transferred from one year to the next.


Transferring Your Entry From One Runner To Another:  

Participants can transfer their entry to someone else within the same race up until midnight Saturday 11 April 2020. We will not accept transfers after this date.   A $25 administration fee will be charged to the withdrawing runner.  The withdrawing runner must request the transfer in writing to karameaevents@gmail.com

Please note: Giving your race number to another person is not permitted due to our Health and Safety Policy.  If you are injured we need to make sure we have your correct details.


Transferring From One Race To The Other:

You are permitted to transfer from one race to another free of charge up until 7am Wednesday 15 April 2020. No transfers will be accepted after 7am Wednesday 15 April 2020.
